Domain Registration

You must be a hosting (dedicated server, colo or VPS) or bandwidth customer to use our domain registration services. We do not sell domains as a 'stand alone' product.

New Domain Registrations

New domains may be registered through us at the following rates:

.co.uk, .org.uk, .ltd.uk
£10 + VAT for two years registration

.com, .net, .org
£10 + VAT for each registration year (minimum one year)

There are no hidden domain administration fees or exit charges. Providing you do not owe us money, you can move your domains to another ISP at any time, without penalty.

We are members of Nominet, the UK domain names Registry, through whom we register .uk domain names.

We are a Registration Services Provider for OpenSRS, through whom we register .com, .net and .org domain names.

Domain Name Transfers

We can accept transfers of existing domain names that are currently held by other ISPs or hosting companies. The procedures differ between .uk and other domain endings.

Transfer of .uk Domains

We will accept the transfer of .uk domains without any initial charge.

There is no charge at the point of transfer but when your domain comes up for renewal you will be due us the registration fee then (currently £10+VAT for two years). UK domains are registered two years at a time, the first renewal is two years after first registration.

Transfer of .com/.net/.org Domains

These transfers can be more complex and there is a charge when the transfer commences.

Charges of £10+VAT per domain year apply when the transfer commences but you are credited for any time remaining until the domain would otherwise have come up for renewal.

For example, if on 31 March 2006 you commenced a transfer for a domain that is not due for renewal until 30 September 2006. You would pay £10+VAT on 31 March for one year's registration and the new renewal date for the domain would become 30 September 2007.

The effect is that you are no worse off in terms of the period your registration lasts for, only you make your renewal payment a bit earlier than you might otherwise have.

Hosting Domains Registered Elsewhere

In the above examples we would transfer your domains to our registration services and have direct technical control over them.

As an alternative, it is possible for your domains to be registered elsewhere and for us to host your site, provided you can persuade your existing domain registrar to change the DNS settings of your domain to point to our DNS servers. We will not make any additional charges for such an arrangement, provided you keep us informed of what is happening and you take responsibility for managing the domain settings.

Using a similar approach we can host domains which have other country endings (e.g. .de, .it, .cc etc) although you will be responsible for registering the domain with the appropriate national domain names authority and changing the domain records.
